Circulation Policies & Procedures

Circulation Policies & Procedures

For Huntingdon Students:

How many items can I have checked out at one time?  10 physical items (for films, up to 2).

How long can I have items out?  For books, 28 days, for films it is 3 days.

Can I have items checked out between semesters?  No, but if there is a special circumstance, come talk to us.

Can I renew items?  Yes, you can renew once online as long as the item isn’t over due.  Otherwise, you need to come see us to get a renewal.

What is the overdue fine rate?  It is 25 cents per day for each print book and $1.00 per day for each film (this does not include days the Library is closed, such as holidays).

What if I can’t afford to pay my fine?  Come talk to us.  We’re happy to work with you, and we can offer you several options, including working off you fine by helping us in the Library.

What happens if I don’t return items at the end of the semester?  Your college account will be charged $100 per item.

What if I need a longer check-out period that is normal?  Come talk to us, so we can help you avoid accumulating a fine.

For Huntingdon Faculty and Staff:

How many items can I have checked out at one time?  Faculty and staff can have up to 30 items out at any given time (for films, though, the same policy applies as for students).

How long can I have items out?  Items check out for the semester (with the exception of films, which check out for 3 days).

Can I have items checked out between semesters?  Yes, just come talk to us, so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Can I renew items?  Yes, you can renew once online, or come see us in person.

What is the overdue fine rate?  Faculty and staff do not have to pay overdue fines.

For Consortium Users:

If you are a student, faculty or staff member at ASU, AUM, Troy Montgomery, or Faulkner, you first must get a gold consortium sticker from your home library that is to be placed on your valid institutional ID.  Next, you come to our library and we will issue you one of our library user accounts, valid for the academic year.

How many items can I have checked out at one time?  Per the consortium agreement, 5 (note that items from our film collection only circulate to Huntingdon students, faculty and staff).
